Visas and work permits need to be obtained, housing in the Netherlands needs to be arranged, the employee and his family need to be registered at City Hall of their Dutch residence, the opening of bank accounts, healthcare insurance, registration at a dentist and a GP or the paperwork regarding a possible tax compensation etcetera. And then we have not even mentioned the actual physical move of the expat’s belongings itself.
Ahead of changes
Henneken is the specialist of choice when it comes to international removals. We conduct around 500 removals each year to The Netherlands from Belgium, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We have been doing this now for more than 150 years. Obviously, things have changed over time, but we always keep ahead of changes regarding custom regulations, Brexit issues and other bureaucratic points of interest. Ticking all the boxes
As soon as there is an agreement between HR and your future employee, Henneken’s relocation consultant will contact him or her. Through a questionnaire – in which we literally tick all the necessary boxes – we will distill the expat’s needs and wishes. On that basis we can begin the actual relocation process. Together with the client we will plan house viewings – three on one day – in The Netherlands. These can be done in person but a viewing via Zoom or Teams works just as well. In case of a long stay we also arrange accompanied region orientation and viewings. In the meantime, we make sure that all the necessary processes for paperwork (visas, work permits etc.) are set in motion. That way we are sure that there will be no delays in that area. After acceptance of the proposed house, we will assess the rental agreement. We will also take care of the internet, TV as well as gas, water and electricity.
During the entire process, your HR department will receive weekly updates and has online access to the relocation tracking system.
